The moment you receive a calling from God is life-altering. It is not just a whisper in the quiet moments of prayer but a divine command that stirs your heart and sets your life on a new course. I have received such a calling—a call to serve as a full-time minister, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ every single day. This calling is not about personal gain or recognition; it is about fulfilling God’s purpose, delivering His message, and bringing transformation to lives through His Word.
This message is for you. If you’ve been running from God’s call, delaying repentance, or doubting your ability to answer His invitation, let this be the moment where you pause, reflect, and say “yes” to the Lord. The time to repent and let God change your story is now.
1. Understanding the Calling from God
What Is a Call?
A calling is a divine assignment, a purpose ordained by God for your life. It is not about your qualifications or abilities but about God’s power working through you.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
God’s call is personal, purposeful, and often life-changing. For me, the call to ministry came with a clear mandate: to spread the gospel daily and to proclaim His Word to all who will hear.
2. Answering God’s Call
Answering God’s call requires obedience, faith, and a heart surrendered to His will. It is not always easy, but it is always worth it. Jesus Himself demonstrated the ultimate act of obedience when He submitted to God’s will in the Garden of Gethsemane:
“Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
Obedience Over Comfort
When God calls, He often takes us out of our comfort zones. Answering His call means setting aside personal ambitions, fears, and doubts to walk in His purpose.
“Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me” (Luke 9:23).
Faith Over Fear
Many who are called by God feel inadequate, much like Moses, who questioned his ability to lead Israel out of Egypt. But God’s response is always the same: “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12).
When I answered God’s call, I realised that it was not about my strength but His. He equips those He calls.
3. The Responsibility of a Full-Time Minister
As a full-time minister, spreading the gospel is not just a task—it is a way of life. It means living out the Great Commission daily:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
Proclaiming the Word
Preaching and teaching the Word of God is at the heart of this calling. The Word has the power to convict, transform, and bring hope to a broken world.
“For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
Living the Gospel
The message of the gospel is not just spoken; it is lived. As a minister, my life must reflect the truth I proclaim. Paul wrote:
“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
Praying Without Ceasing
Interceding for others and seeking God’s guidance through constant prayer is an essential part of the calling.
“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
4. Repent Today and Let God Change Your Story
The message I proclaim daily is one of repentance, renewal, and transformation. Repentance is the doorway to a new life in Christ. It is an acknowledgement of sin, a turning away from it, and a surrender to God’s will.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
Why Repentance Is Urgent
The Bible warns that time is short and we do not know the day or hour of Christ’s return:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
Delaying repentance is dangerous. Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Don’t wait to let God rewrite your story.
How God Changes Your Story
When you repent and turn to God, He transforms your life completely. He takes your brokenness and replaces it with wholeness, your despair with hope, and your sin with righteousness.
“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
God specialises in turning lives around. No matter your past, He can give you a new beginning.
5. Walking in the Power of Revelation
As a minister, the messages I deliver come from divine revelation. God speaks through His Word, His Spirit, and circumstances to guide His people.
God Speaks Through His Word
The Bible is the ultimate source of revelation. It provides wisdom, instruction, and truth for every aspect of life.
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
The Holy Spirit Reveals Truth
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit as a guide to all truth:
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth” (John 16:13).
When I prepare to preach or teach, I rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal the message God wants His people to hear.
6. A Call to Action: Answer God’s Call Today
If you feel God calling you—whether to repentance, ministry, or a deeper walk with Him—do not delay. God’s call is an invitation to a life of purpose, peace, and eternal significance.
Practical Steps to Answer God’s Call
- Surrender Your Heart: Begin by giving your life to Jesus Christ through repentance and faith.
- Seek God in Prayer: Ask Him to reveal His purpose for your life.
- Study His Word: Immerse yourself in Scripture to understand His will.
- Obey His Leading: Take steps of faith as God directs, even if they take you out of your comfort zone.
7. Conclusion: The Power of Saying Yes to God
When I said “yes” to God’s call, my life changed forever. I now live with a sense of purpose, spreading the gospel every day and witnessing the transformative power of God in people’s lives. This same transformation is available to you.
God is calling you today—whether to repentance, deeper faith, or ministry. Will you answer His call?
Prayer:
